Entry into the Book Trade

The Book Trade Charity (BTBS) working with the Matthew Hodder Charitable Trust supports those finding employment in the book trade by covering interview costs including:

· travel

· subsistence

· overnight accommodation

· appropriate clothing

You need to satisfy eligibility criteria including being under 30, in financial need and looking for a position within the book trade.


For paid internships of not longer than 6 months within the Book Trade additional funds can (having satisfied eligibility) be released to cover  costs including:

· travel

· subsistence

· rent

· general living costs

The employer will be expected to pay at least the minimum wage and the scheme is designed to support genuine opportunities. Unpaid work experience placements (ie as part of a trade-related post graduate degree) will also be considered
