For further details please call Glenda on 01923 263128 or email [email protected] Dickinson House, the original almshouse, opened in 1846 The housing is set in attractive grounds At the entrance to The Retreat, two bungalows which were part of the first phase of re-development in 1998 Dillon Lodge, the original gatehouse to The Retreat, nowused as part of our housing, a two-bedroomed house The Retreat is set in five acres of pleasant grounds. Despite its proximity to London (25 minutes by train to Euston) and with good access to the M25, it is peaceful and feels both rural and secluded. The estate consists of 36 homes - a selection of bungalows and town houses built around Dickinson House, the original Victorian almshouse. In addition The Retreat offers communal gardens, a laundry room and a Guest Bungalow for friends and relatives of residents, and occasionally for short-term emergency housing.
