Long-term tenancies

As well as our new Bookbinders Cottages designed for new entrants to the trade the charity provides a range of studio, one-bed and two-bed housing at both Kings Langley, Hertfordshire and Barnet, London N20.  Tenancies are long-term and tend to suit residents who are older, normally over 40.

The Retreat is set in five acres of pleasant grounds.  Despite its proximity to London (25 minutes by train to Euston) and with good access to the M25, it is peaceful and feels both rural and secluded.  The estate consists of 36 homes - a selection of bungalows and town houses built around Dickinson House, the original Victorian almshouse.

In addition The Retreat offers communal gardens, a laundry room and a Guest Bungalow for friends and relatives of residents, and occasionally for short-term emergency housing.
